Why your website matters
Have you ever thought about why you have a website or what outcome you desire from the site?
We talk to a lot of people who know they should have a website but aren’t quite sure what they want it to do or why they should have it.
Some purely want an online brochure that they can send prospective clients to for more information about their company, products and services. These people are often not interested in Search Engine Optimisation or improving their rankings as they will be directing people to their site.
Others are all about selling their goods or seminar tickets online and are therefore very interested in collecting email addresses and ranking highly in the search engines as this is where their primary source of business comes from.
There are many reasons for building a website, some of which include:
- Selling products or services online
- Providing extra information or support online for products and services
- Introducing and promoting an organisation and its mission
- Remaining competitive with other companies that are already online
- Building a database
- Getting the phone to ring for an appointment
- Sharing information, artwork, writing or photos
- Providing a community or forum
Remember that your prospects are searching Google right now for the product or service you offer. If they don’t find you, they will spend their dollars with your competitor.
You simply cannot afford not to have an effective, user-friendly, easy to find web presence if you want to stay in business.
