New Digs! New Signs! New Directions!
In a little under a month's time, insilicoTM will celebrate it's first birthday! Time certainly does fly when you're having fun.
It's hard to believe how far we've come in such a short time, and the changes we have made along the way.
In that short period, we have changed the focus of our business from being just custom software development to incorporating all kinds of web based products and services, we have quadrupled the number of staff from 1 to 4, and have moved into our own offices in Kewdale.
|
We've also had in business consultants who have aided us in finding our way in the big wide world of business and we have found their guidance and direction invaluable so a big thank you to Irena and Libby from Paradigma.

And we've called on our BNI network to provide us with:
So, What Have We been Doing Since Last Time?
In the past 3 months we have undertaken a number of new projects both web based and on the desktop.
Unfortunately, we can't show you the desktop stuff but here are a few of the websites we have completed recently ...

Damn Hippies!
We are doing okay in most areas - as much as we can in a leased building - but there is ALWAYS room for improvement. We have since contacted our Strata Manager to see if they can have a recycle bin supplied for the use of the complex.

Our thanks to Richard and his team at Sign A Rama Joondalup for our new signs.
News From The Trenches
Those of you keeping up with events on Facebook will see that I've recently become the proud owner of an Apple iPhone.
Now I've got to say that the hoops I had to jump through to get this damn phone were unbelieveable! The amount of misinformation and secrecy surrounding this device is outrageous!
Even to the point where you will ring 2 stores from a single telco and get conflicting stories - and I'm tech-saavy! There are gonna be some sad tales of woe on ACA* and the like in the coming months, especially with the expensive data rates here in Australia.

But there is good news and, I think, lots of it!
The iPhone has wi-fi so guess what? My iPhone uses the office and the home wi-fi whenever it can. And when it can't, like Friday night when I wanted to see how much spending room was on my credit card, I just dialled up the bank's web site and hey presto instant credit card balance! Sweet!
And always-on Internet is so cool! What's the weather tomorrow? As I write this, the weather tomorrow is ... 17 and cloudy. And there's more where that came from ...
And to top it all off, a couple of people have expressed an interest in having us write iPhone applications so before they could even finish asking, I had an iPhone development kit downloaded and installed. Watch this space for more news, and please feel free to send in suggestions for an application that you think would be useful.
